Accessibility statement for this site

Last reviewed: 2026-03-04

Our commitment

Landline Switch is designed to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technologies. Our audience includes older people and people with disabilities. Accessibility is not an afterthought.

Standards

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This means:

  • All content is accessible via keyboard
  • All images have text alternatives
  • Colour contrast meets minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Interactive elements have visible focus indicators
  • Touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels
  • Form inputs have associated labels
  • Page structure uses proper headings in order (h1, h2, h3, with no skipped levels)
  • Pages have a skip-to-content link
  • Content is readable at 200% zoom

Tools and forms

The device risk checker and power-cut plan builder are designed to work without JavaScript. Each step is a separate page with a clear question, labelled form fields, and a submit button. Progress is shown as "Step X of Y". When JavaScript is available, the experience is enhanced but the underlying form still works.

Results pages can be printed using the browser's print function or the on-page print button. Print styles are optimised for readability.

Text size and font

The site uses a minimum base font size of 18 pixels with a system font stack (no custom web fonts that might fail to load). All sizes are set in relative units, so the text scales properly when you use your browser's zoom or text-size settings.

Known limitations

We are not aware of any accessibility issues at this time. If you find one, please let us know.

Reporting problems

If you have difficulty using any part of this site, email hello@landlineswitch.co.uk and describe what happened. Include the page address (URL) if you can. We will investigate and fix the issue.
